Janel Vancas is the current Director of Curriculum Innovation at IU8. She has served in this role since January of 2018. Under her supervision is the position of Curriculum Specialist for STEM. This position was created due to the increasing demands and evolvement of STEM Education in the Commonwealth. This role has had significant impacts on the services we offer to our 4-county service area, the main one being the STEM Lending Center. The Lending Center began under Janel’s direction and she continues to lead that work. She has also played a vital role in the development of the CSB2 STEM Ecosystem and serves on the Executive Committee. Janel values STEM Education and the positive impact it can have on local communities.
